starting fresh monday

For Aunt Cindy

Sunday at 3:00pm, we attached notes to balloons and sent them out for my aunt Cindy. Members of my family (on my mother’s side) did the same thing from their various homes across the western states. It was one year ago today that she lost her battle to cancer. We were both dealing with it around the same time and I feel like I didn’t really make enough effort to call her at times. I think she was often in more pain than I was and felt like it was a losing battle. It made it really hard for me to talk to her. That has been a regret of mine. Still, I’m happy to know that she isn’t in pain any more. We all miss her.

I’ve been pretty well laid out for the past 4 days. I managed to catch a cold right before my mom came up to visit from Portland. I took Thursday and Friday off of work and laid around watching movies.

Rock Band 2 was on for ridiculous amounts of times this weekend. Jane found a new love of singing while playing the guitar, and I’ve been slowly working my way up to expert on drums. Even my mom got some time in on the vocals. She kept asking to play “one more song”.

To be honest, it was a nice change of pace. The rest of the week had been a nightmare at work and I think my poor mental health led to my poor physical health.

With any luck, this next week can be a fresh start.
